A Unique Challenge
Having to build in remote areas or at a significant distance always poses a unique challenge—especially when the project’s location is an island 7,500 km away. R.K. Porter was commissioned to build a vacation villa in the Bahamas that required some extreme logistical planning.
The ICF foundation materials and other finish materials used during construction were loaded onto trucks, then onto boats and delivered to the island where they were transported to the site.
Exercise in Adaptability
Building Aqua Terra Exuma was also an exercise in adaptability for R.K. Porter. Most of the man power needed for construction was sourced from members of the local community, providing employment opportunities and valuable experience from which the locals could benefit.
The five bedroom villa situated on this island paradise now provides a steady rental income for its owners, a beautiful destination for travelers and employment opportunities for local residents.
